Northwest is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Northwest was most recently reaffirmed for accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission in January 2019.

Program endorsements and other affiliations

Northwest is a public institution of higher education as and all active Northwest programs are approved by the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (MDHEWD).

Northwest receives a certification from the American Chemical Society (ACS) for chemistry programs.

The Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity major has been validated by the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Program of Study Validation through the 2027 academic year.
